This policy explains how Solar Proposal ("SolarProposal", "we", "us") handles personal data when you use solarproposal.in and app.solarproposal.in. We follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
1. What we collect
- Your account: your name, email address and Google account ID, from Google when you sign in. We never see your Google password.
- Your company's branding: company name, logo, brand colour, tagline, phone, email, website and city.
- Your proposals: what you enter, including your customers' names, phone numbers and addresses, system details, prices and terms.
- Usage: how many proposals your company has made, used for plan limits.
- Technical data: our hosting providers keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and time of visit) to run and protect the service.
2. How we use it
- to sign you in and run your account;
- to save your proposals and branding and make your proposal PDFs;
- to apply your plan's limits and handle upgrades;
- to help you when you contact us, and to tell you about important changes;
- to keep SolarProposal secure and fix problems.
We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising, or contact your customers.
3. Your customers' details
When you enter a customer's details, you decide why they are used, and you are responsible for having their permission. We process those details only on your behalf, to make your proposals, and only people in your company can see them.
4. Who processes the data
We use trusted service providers to run SolarProposal. They handle data only to provide their service to us:
- Google Firebase (Google Cloud): sign-in and the database where accounts and proposals are stored;
- Cloudflare: hosting the website and app, and storing uploaded images such as logos;
- Google Fonts: the fonts the pages use.
These providers may store or process data on servers outside India, with security measures in place. We will share data with authorities only when the law requires it.
5. How we protect it
All connections use encryption (HTTPS). Database rules allow each company to read only its own data, and only the company owner can change its branding. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you and the authorities as the law requires if a breach affects you.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account, branding and proposals within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep something (such as invoices). Copies in backups are removed as the backups expire.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct or update it (you can also edit your branding in the app at any time);
- delete it, or close your account;
- nominate someone to act for you if you are unable to;
- answer a complaint about how we have handled your data.
Write to [Support email, e.g. support@solarproposal.in] from the email you sign in with, or WhatsApp us. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
8. Cookies and storage on your device
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. The app stores a few things in your browser so it works: your sign-in, your light or dark setting, and copies of your recent proposals so they open quickly.
9. Children
SolarProposal is for businesses and is not meant for anyone under 18.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app or by email.
11. Grievance officer and contact
